#SupportKonso | #KIA Donates 50,000 Birr

The Konso Intellectuals Association (KIA) has provided 50,000 Ethiopian Birr in support of people severely affected by flooding in Segen Zuria Woreda, Konso Zone.

It may be recalled that the Association had previously called on all its members both within the country and abroad to contribute according to their capacity to assist those impacted by the flood disaster and to help them secure sustainable, permanent shelter. Following this call, many professionals have actively been taking part in the support effort.

As part of its vision to see a peaceful, transformed, and prosperous Konso community, the Association has set 13 key objectives. Among these are supporting community development, designing projects to improve social services, and assisting vulnerable groups living under low living standards.

In line with this, the Association is working on preparing a project proposal to mobilize funds for building permanent shelters for the affected communities. As an institution, it has already contributed 50,000 Birr and will continue to fulfill its responsibility toward peace and development with commitment.

Finally, the Association extends its heartfelt gratitude to all those who have contributed so far. However, given the scale of the disaster and the urgent need for additional support, it calls upon individuals and institutions who have not yet contributed to do so via the Woreda government’s rehabilitation bank account:
