📚🌿 Dr. Dechassa Lemessa Ocho has officially submitted his PhD research book entitled “Ethnobotanical Study of Wild Food Plants Used by Farmers in Konso, Ethiopia” to the Konso Intellectual Association (KIA).
The book was received on behalf of KIA by Mr. Basire Balcha, General Manager of the Association, together with Mr. Koshana Kollo, Coordinator of the KIA Capacity Building Team.
The study identified 152 wild food plant products used by the Konso community and highlighted their important role in food security and traditional diets. The findings also challenge common assumptions that all wild food plant consumption is only linked to food shortages.
Dr. Dechassa and KIA have agreed to continue further studies and promote wild food plants as valuable food crops for wider use and future food sustainability.
