The Konso Intellectuals Association (KIA) has begun providing training for public servants of the Karat City Administration on various topics.
In collaboration with the Konso Zone Administration Office, the Konso Intellectuals Association previously delivered a two-day training for public servants of the Konso Zone in October 2025 (about four months ago).
After making preparations to extend this training to all districts (woredas) in the zone and to the Karat City Administration, the Association officially began the training today for public servants working in the Karat City Administration and Kolme Woreda.
Since its establishment, the Konso Intellectuals Association, guided by the vision of seeing a peaceful, transformed, and prosperous Konso society, has been working to support the holistic transformation and development of the Konso community. In particular, it has been strengthening the capacity of public servants through various training programs, and it is well known that similar trainings have been provided in the past. The currently launched training is a continuation of these efforts and will also continue in the future. Participants are therefore encouraged to absorb the knowledge being provided and apply it in their public service duties.
The training covers the following key topics:
👉Glocal mindset for public servants
👉Work ethics and professionalism
👉Public service delivery
👉Emotional intelligence
The opening speech for today’s training, held for the public servants of the Karat City Administration, was delivered by Mr. Tesfaye Gileno, Head of the Mayor’s Office of the City Administration. The training is being coordinated by W/ro Birke Gelsimo, Coordinator of the Konso Zone Branch of the Konso Intellectuals Association, and facilitated by Mr. Gumachew Kuse, a member of the Association, as the trainer. The training will also continue tomorrow.
“We strive to see a peaceful, transformed, and prosperous Konso society.”
