The chairman of the general meeting of the association, Mr. Gumachew Kuse, who delivered a welcome message to the discussion, urged all branches and groups to work hard as the 2017 financial year of the Konso Intellectual Association is an operational year.

The manager of the association Mr. Basire Balcha said that the activities of the branches and groups of the association after the the General Assembly are encouraging and should continue.

In the discussion, it was stated that scholars should be ready as the association is entering into action by formulating new projects and a call for participation is made to scholars.

Another issue that was given attention to is that the association has formed a committee and is working with the relevant parties to correct the problems observed in the 9th grade book about Konso history.

Reform works and awareness works in the branches, research and research works to be strengthened and supported by the budget, Konso branch has the largest share, to strengthen it to do strong activities as it believes, KIA association members and other scholars to get education scholarships abroad.

The Konso Intellectual Association is in its second year since its establishment and is moving with the vision of working hard to see a peaceful, transformed and prosperous Konso society.
